Actually, this story was started after the clash between respected Indian Soldiers and so-called Chinese soldiers at Ladakh's Galwan Valley where we lost our 20 respected soldiers. After this incident, whole country was in pain and Indians have called for boycott China products. People started to threw and burn Chinese items. CAIT, Indian traders organization also announced the boycott of China products. Cait released a list of 500 Chinese product to be boycotted. And now Government of India has decided to ban 59 Chinese App including very popular apps like TikTok, Helo etc.

List of 59 Chinese App banned by Indian Government 

Press Release 

On Monday night, Government of India announced ban on popular 59 China apps. Government said in this respect that these Chinese apps were engaged in such activities which were prejudicial to our sovereignty, integrity and defense of India. Ban announcing Govt. Press release said that the Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps. The press release also said that the Ministry of Information Technology has received a lot of requests from citizen regarding the risk of privacy and security of data. Press release also stated that the CERT has also received a lot of representation regarding the breach of privacy and data. And that is why Government of India has decided to ban these apps to ensure that security and a healthy Indian Cyberspace.

Some other countries who has banned Chinese apps

India is not the only country who has decided or banned Chinese apps. Germany has also banned some Chinese App in their country. Taiwan has also banned some Chinese apps.These countries has the same reason which is breach of privacy and cyber security issues.

Currently more than 119 million people in India are active users of the TikTok. But currently there is a controversy regarding Tiktok ban. The youth start to feel depressed it they don’t get enough views on their videos. Many people get motivated if they get some views and make more and more videos. 3. Abusive contents

Because of its light hearted feel, ease of use and goofy content large number of children are signing up for this video making app with their fake date of birth and continue to use it without any restrictions. There are a large number of videos which are inappropriate and abusive not only for kids but for adults too. Because of abusive content, this app was banned on 03 April 2019 by Madras High Court citing that it ‘encourages pornography’, but the ban was lifted on 25th April 2019 following a plea from TikTok developer Byte Dance Technology.

4. Wastage of human capital

As large number of youth creates and make videos, and waste large amount of time. The youth as well as the nation loose human capital. Many are taking it up as a career totally oblivious of the fact that success rate in this type of platform is very low and after succeeding too getting constant views over a long period of time will be a challenging task. 

Youth should concentrate on other productive works so that they, their family and the nation as a whole moves forward.

5. It is not indigenous

As it is an app owned by a Chinese company named Byte Dance, the profit from the proceeds of the app goes to Beijing. According to Economic Times, TikTok clocked in a profit of 3.4 Crore, Dollar ($479,000) on revenue of Rs 43.7 Crore in its 1st full year operations in India.
