Indian Govt. banned 59 Chinese Apps
After a conflict between India and China at Ladakh valley few days back, Indians called for boycott of Chinese products. CAIT released a list of around 500 Chinese products to be boycotted. And now Govt has banned 59 Chinese apps in India. Let's see whole story.

On Monday night, Government of India announced ban on popular 59 China apps. Government said in this respect that these Chinese apps were engaged in such activities which were prejudicial to our sovereignty, integrity and defense of India. Ban announcing Govt. Press release said that the Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps. The press release also said that the Ministry of Information Technology has received a lot of requests from citizen regarding the risk of privacy and security of data. Press release also stated that the CERT has also received a lot of representation regarding the breach of privacy and data. And that is why Government of India has decided to ban these apps to ensure that security and a healthy Indian Cyberspace.
Some other countries who has banned Chinese apps
India is not the only country who has decided or banned Chinese apps. Germany has also banned some Chinese App in their country. Taiwan has also banned some Chinese apps.These countries has the same reason which is breach of privacy and cyber security issues.
